Paris Hilton and Her Stolen Cake Tale
We are accustomed to see the blonde diva stand out for the strangest of reasons but the stolen cake story is ridiculous even for her.
Long story cut short, the most famous socialite, Paris Hilton, changed the 20’s for 30’s. For this high glam event, the diva ordered a cake able to fit her glamorous image.
Red, decorated with roses, a pair of cat eyes looking at you and having “Paris” written on the top layer, the infamous cake looked so delicious that somebody was compelled to steal it.
The fabulous party which was held in Paris’ honor hosted no less than 300 guests. To everybody’s surprise, the fabulous cake was just presented and nobody, the birthday girl included, thought of serving it to the guests.
A very creative party crusher under the name of “Spaz” saw fit to not let the pastry jewel go waste. Said and done, he grabbed the cake and disappeared in the proverbial sunset.
Grammys – The Unexpected Has Happened
Every year, the Grammy awards invite lot of attention on the ceremony. This year is no exception. The 53d ceremony was lavish, eccentric and provocative.
The most prestigious musical event in the world took place in Los Angeles. The biggest victory of the year belonged to the country music trio Lady Antebellum, who won five statues, including two in the major categories for Best Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
The group was nominated in six categories, but their song Need You Now brought them four awards. No one really expected that a country group will blow away the competition.
Eminem, who was nominated in ten categories, won only two – for Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Album. According to the critics, Eminem wasn’t at the level everyone expected.
Halle vs. Gabriel for Nahla
When love ends, it all gets messy. The latest Hollywood story is about the battle between Halle Berry and the father of her child Gabriel Aubrey. American actress Halle Berry temporarily puts aside her professional projects to focus on fighting for custody of her daughter – two-year old Nahla. The actress is said to experience serious concerns for the welfare of Nahla.
Halle is concerned that Gabriel isn’t providing enough care for her daughter. The couple split last April and although it seemed they have reached a friendly agreement for the good of Nahla, Halle now has decided to refer the matter to the court for the sole custody of the child.
The agent of the actress has said in a statement that she will make all necessary steps to protect her daughter. According to the statement, Halle is trying to resolve all issues with Gabriel in a friendly manner, but he is refusing to agree on her suggestions. That is why the court will decide who will have the custody of Nahla.
83rd Oscars – The White Oscars?
The 83rd Oscar’s ceremony is heading towards being the White Oscars this year.
The nominees for all the acting categories are white with no minorities included. In fact almost all the major nominations are Caucasians. The last time it happened was almost a decade ago, when all the acting nominations went to whites in the 73rd Oscar Movie Awards.
The major reason attributed to it is the lack of substantial cinema related to minorities. There were no serious movies handling the ethnic background unlike last year. As Gregg Kilday, film editor observes hardly any substantial cinema is being made irrespective of color.
The previous awards had seen serious contention by nominees Mo’Nique and Gabourey Sidibe, thanks to hard hitting movies like “Precious”. This year saw no serious or Oscar worthy movies made with an African American Background.
Much is being said about the theatrics that are part of the Oscar Nominations.
Truly The Most Overpaid Actress In Showbiz
Though Forbes lists the rankings of the top earning actresses in Hollywood on an annual basis, that list is not really accurate — an actress does not even have to be in a film to be on it.
In tallying their totals, Forbes uses the income that these actresses derive from their side deals — endorsements, commercials, and other work.
So if we were to go by this data, Angelina Jolie wins Most Overpaid by a landslide. Without even releasing a movie, Mrs. Brad Pitt made over $20 in the year 2010.
Her endorsements and residuals did better for her while she slept than most actresses make for enduring 12 hours of cramped trailers lol no nice Hollywood leather sectional sofas here and sex scenes with lecherous co stars.
A new system must be formed. If an actress is to call herself an actress, then she should be judged on her acting alone when tallying totals for the Most Overpaid.
The Stunning Looks on the 2011 Golden Globe Red Carpet
One of the first things one notices about a red carpet event are the celebrities and their fashion statement. The 2011 Golden Globes were no different. While most of the celebrities came out looking stunning and beautiful in their designers ensembles some stood out more than others.
Be it their choice of bold or unusual colors with contrasting accessories or the classic looks flaunted with panache, each one of them took the breath away. Emerald Green turned out to be the hot favorite among celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Mila Kunis, Catherine Zeta Jones and Elizabeth Moss.
Unusual colors like chocolate brown as worn by Olivia Wilde looked really stunning. The Marchesa gown with its gold rhinestones was set off beautifully by the gold shoes.
Some others who caught the eye were pregnant Natalie Portman looking ravishing in a Viktor Rolf dress; the baby pink dress was adorned by a beautiful sequined rose.
The Critics’ Choice Awards 2011 – Who Won What
The Critics’ Choice awards have always been an indicator of the next Oscar winners, when it comes to cinema. This year the critics proved that they don’t have the same taste as the public and awarded only those actors that deserve an award.
Two were the biggest winners of the night – Colin Firth and Natalie Portman. These two actors can be characterized as very intelligent performers, for this was the main reason why they are the Critics’ Choice winners. Colin Firth has won the Best Actor Award for his performance in King’s Speech.
Actually this is the first serious award that is given to the long-deserving actor. During his long and successful career the actor was never awarded with an international award.
Natalie Portman was awarded as the Best Actress of the year for her performance in The Black Swan.
People’s Choice Awards 2011 – Who Got What
The People’s Choice Awards is one of the biggest events in the year, when it comes to choosing the favorites of the public. This year the ceremony was hosted by Queen Latifah and it was a really lavish event, filled with Hollywood stars, all of them hoping to be chosen as public’s favorites.
Yet, the biggest winners in the music categories this year are Eminem and Katy Perry. They were chosen to win Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Female Artist. There is no surprise in the cinema world. Twilight was awarded as the Favorite Movie, which was expected.
As for the TV shows, Glee has been honored as a Favorite TV Comedy. The biggest winner in the actors’ category is Johnny Depp. He has become a favorite movie actor for the second year. Kirsten Stewart grabbed the award for a Favorite Movie Actress.
