7 Top Movies to Rock 2012
Each year there are some movies that rock the world, and at the beginning of the year we can make some predictions regarding the top movies of the next year. In case you would know which movies to keep an eye out for this year, here are some that you might like.

1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The only person that could have finished the movie is the producer who has been behind the other series of J. R. R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings. This will be a two part movie that presents a lot younger Bilbo Baggins. There are some familiar faces that we will see, such as Cate Blanchet, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood.
7 Excellent World War II Movies
When considering to stay home for an evening and watch a World War II movie on direct tv, most men would probably regard that as an entertaining way to spend some free time. Their wives and girlfriends, however, may think they can find better things to do with their significant others than watching battle scenes and puffed-up egos all night.
Below is a list of some of the best movies in the genre which may heartily appeal to both genders. Some of them are well known classics that deserve revisiting. Others may be hidden gems to some people, just waiting for discovery.
- Schindler’s List needs little commentary. Experience it again.
- The Bridge on the River Kwai is an oldie but goodie. It won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture in 1957. British POWs imprisoned by the Japanese are ordered to build a bridge. A battle of wills ensues, and both the British and the Japanese colonels show signs of madness. It’s an interesting commentary on war and human nature.
Grimm vs. Once Upon a Time: No More Happy Endings?
The producers of Felicity and Lost have come up with a new twist to fairytales through the new show debuting on ABC, Once Upon a Time. As an answer, NBC also came up with something of the sort. The makers of Angel Go Criminal and Buffy the Vampire Slayer have come up with the series Grimm.
Both of the series address the battle of good and bad in the modern times. The main point of Grimm is to create a crime and fairytale kind of story. On the other hand, in Once Upon a Time the drama starts when the Evil Queen curses Snow White, Prince Charming and their daughter along with other members of the world so that they won’t have a happy ending.

In the first episode of Grimm, Nick Burkhart who is a detective finds out that he has an ancestry of criminal profilers that have the ability to see fairytale villains through their masks of regular people.
The Secret Circle – A New Audience Rival for Vampire Diaries
After the success of Vampire Diaries, there has been another series released that also has as a central topic the supernatural, entitled The Secret Circle. The plot of the new show includes teen heroines that also have a connection with that mythical world, and so CW hopes that through presenting two series belonging to the same niche, it will be able to engage all those people who like things of this sort, who are going to watch the series week after week.

There are a lot of people who like the new series because of Gale Harold who plays the role of Charles in the series, the father of one of the teens that is part of the circle of witches. The plot is very interesting, and everything starts with him setting on fire the house of the mother of the main character. He has done so, so that the little orphan girl would live with her grandmother and so that she would meet the others to complete the circle.
TV Celebs and the Race for the Emmys
The Emmys are always a big thing, and even in this year programs and individual achievements have been awarded at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

In this category the nominees have been Friday Night Lights, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Broadwalk Empire, The Good Wife and Mad Men. Can you guess which one of them won? Mad Men of course.

Good Bye Harry Potter – How a Famous Story Comes to an End
With the last Harry Potter movie hitting the theaters, there is a lot of nostalgia that one will never be able to watch such a magnificent crew come together to perform their magic.
The premier of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 was graced by the entire crew of the movie, the author J.K. Rowling and many other prominent celebrities.
Emma hosted the event dressed in a beautiful Oscar de la Renta tulle gown. The sleeveless gown had an embroidered bodice and a full skirt. The author too walked the red carpet in an Oscar creation and looked resplendent in a green silk gown. It had a sweetheart neckline and beautiful pink carnation motif. The young men from the cast too looked dapper in their finery.
Prequels vs. Sequels or the Hollywood’s Loss of Creativity
The movie business has accustomed us with blockbusters and it got used to movies cashing huge flow of money because of the intriguing topic, cool theme, and spectacular heroes.
But what do you do in a year when you ran out of possibilities, when the Marvel hero type is overdone, the vampire trend tends to expire? What happens when a trilogy is no longer enough to exploit a movie subject? The answer is: you create sequels and why not prequels.
This is how the general public has the privilege to witness a 2011 summer with an unprecedented number of sequels covering all movie genders and using the spirit of blockbuster past to promote the “should be, would be” success of tomorrow.
So far Harry Potter franchise is going strong feeding the need to gloom and blues of the modern teenagers and Twilight – Breaking dawn is keeping the fans breathless with expectation.
Myths Vs. Modern Showdown: Thor Vs. Fast & Furious 5
One of the biggest hits and in the same time the biggest successes of these days’ cinema blockbusters is the movie ‘Thor’. The movie has been created by Marvel’s film division and it is known for crushing all the other movies in this period, according to certain information.

The company had Paramount as its distribution partner and these two companies have a lot of reasons to be happy, for the movie impact all over the world. The movie debuted with £5.45m, and £2.34m came from the previews.
The fifth ‘Fast and Furious’ movie also made quite a debut in the last period, but still it wasn’t able to bring ‘Thor’ down. Two years ago, when the fourth movie appeared, it registered a huge fall in the second week. This time this fall hasn’t been that major.
