As it turns out, Prince William is really a prince and not just by right or family lineage. A royal, handsome and a hero? Well, yes that’s true. It has been recently found out that Prince William helped to rescue a girl who was injured in a serious car crash. This news was made public when another responder who came to rescue her told the media that Prince William played a major role in the process.
According to the BBC, this 9 year old girl was walking in the town of Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, England during the afternoon when a Mercedes and a Ford collided. This collision led to strike the girl, who was a pedestrian. After she was hit, rescue workers and ambulance was called and she was flown to the hospital.
The Duke of Cambridge, 33, who is also a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance, was present on the scene to help to fly the girl to the hospital. It was reported that he was quick, sensitive and helped her reach the medical facilities before it was too late.
Unfortunately the girl suffered a broken pelvis and legs. She is still in critical condition and the doctors are constantly trying to keep her safe. A second girl was also injured in the same accident but her injuries are not very serious. She escaped just with minor injuries and wouldn’t need to stay in the hospital.
This is not the first time that Prince William has helped someone in need. The Duke used to serve in the Royal Air Force prior to working as an air ambulance pilot. Till date, he has participated in 156 rescue and search operations most of which have been successful, according to the website of the Royal family. It is said that the Duke is a great and responsible pilot and takes his role very seriously.
It won’t be wrong to say that we need more people like Prince William. Incidents like these truly prove that people like him cannot always take their reputation and family lineage for granted and are respected for their achievements and contributions. We can only wait and watch how many more lives the Duke will be saving in the future. We are sure the Royal family is proud of their first in line to be king.
