Robert Downey Junior Proud Of The Golden Globes Result
And the winner of this year’s edition of the Golden Globe Awards is… Robert Downey Junior!
The title of best performance of an actor in a motion picture for his part in Sherlock Holmes went, not very surprisingly, in his collection of trophies.
Even before the ceremony, the well known actor and singer had very high expectations and thought he was going to win (he always does so, as he declared for the reporters of USA Today). There was one thing Robert, 44, feared during his official speech: not to make a mistake when quoting Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The long term plans regarding Sherlock Holmes are, obviously, to continue it (especially after winning a Golden Globe) and eventually making a whole series, which will certainly thrill the numerous fans of the legendary character.
A-Rod: Bye, Bye Kate…Hello Madonna
A series of sneaking in and out of their apartments – this is how one could classify the largely disputed relationship between pop idol Madonna and Alex Rodriguez, a baseball player for the NY Yankees.
Although none of them has admitted to having more than a close friendship, A-Rod’s ex-girlfriend, actress Kate Hudson declared that their story can not go on for “his heart belongs to Madonna”; more than that, the 34 years old baseball player has always bragged with having a special bond with the singer, who actually turned to him repeatedly, including after the split with her ex-husband, director Guy Ritchie and apparently now as well, after the break-up with Brazilian model Jesus Luz.
Common friends of Madonna and Alex say they are still being sweet on each other, although the baseball player has always been concerned about the damage that admitting to a relationship with her would cause him, especially after the long divorce he has been through a great part of 2008 (with Cynthia Rodriguez).
Dexter Is Fighting Cancer
The news that Michael C. Hall, who played the main part in the series of drama “Six Feet Under” (on HBO) and Dexter in the homonym series (Showtime series) has to fight Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a form of cancer) before coming back on the set shook the media worldwide these last days.
Although he has recently declared that he finds himself in a much better state, that he is under treatment and that his condition is curable, fans seem to be overwhelmed with care (and concern, one might add, since the fifth season of Dexter is yet to come).
The 38 year old actor was suffering from Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a treatable condition, which is now in complete remission, and he publicly gave thanks to the doctors and nurses that got him through the expertise.
Brangelina Is Back To Brad And Angelina
It’s now official! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have decided to separate and go on their own ways.
The two have been trying to salvage their marriage for quiet some time but the rows during Christmas holidays have proven to be the last straw.
They were trying hard to save their marriage for the sake of their 6 children. But things have now turned too ugly to continue.
Brangelina, the pair was much loved by the media. They were two special people leading a special life.
The couple adopted 3 kids and has 3 biological kids of their own. Their philanthropic work in third world countries is well known.
In-fact, their first born has a Namibian passport. The two have worked together for many charities benefiting children and needy in countries like Cambodia.
Is Rob The New Spiderman?
The Twilight star who has recently been declared the world’s sexiest man alive (by the British “Glamour” magazine), is wanted for the new Spider man series.
It might be that Tobey Maguire is simply too old for the part or that Rob’s charm and acting skills have already convinced the producers, either way, the discussions are ongoing. Spider Man 4 will be about Peter Parker in his high school years and Robert Pattinson is thought to be one of the best actors to picture that; the producers still have Michael Cera and Chace Crawford in mind.
Pattinson is as busy as he can be shooting Bel Ami, alongside Uma Thurman.Until a new blockbuster, Twilight is still scoring and to be continued.
Jude Law Back To The One True Love
Jude Law is back with the love of his life, Sienna Miller and plans to pop the question soon. They had broken up in November 2006 and seem to be back together now after nearly 3 years. They were recently seen together on vacation in Barbados.
Jude’s three children, from his previous marriage to ex-wife Sadie Frost, joined the reunited couple during their holiday. It is said that his proximity to Sienna Miller resulted in his marriage to Sadie Frost going on rocks.
According to sources these 3 years have been an emotionally tough period for Jude Law. Sienna too was tired of her single life and wishes to remain with Jude forever. The two have sorted out their differences and are back together with a bang.
Affiliates Decide No More Prime Time For Leno
“The Jay Leno Show will no longer air at 10 p.m.” declared Jeff Gaspin, the network chairman of NBC, because although the show was reaching audience within the networks, the affiliates did not get the same feedback and the change became necessary.
Therefore, starting February 12, Jay Leno will be part of NBC’s late-night lineup, along with Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon. The Jay Leno Show will probably move to 11:35, The Tonight Show to 12:05 and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon would then start at 1:05 but details are yet to be settled.
Although all three have treated the decision graciously and with professionalism, during one of his shows last week Leno joked that he might be considering signing a contract with Fox and there are chances that O’Brien also turned to the rival TV station.
Bye-Bye Hannah Montana
All great things come to an end. Miley Cyrus has decided she wants to be more than a Disney character.
The 17-year-old star declared that the fourth season of the famous Disney Channel TV series ‘Hannah Montana’ would also be the last one.
The series that chronicles the adventures of average teen Miley Stewart was a smashing success. The shooting of the final season will begin this month, January 18, and end sometime in summer, according to reports.
The discussions about the final season of Hannah Montana have been going on for some time and some Disney delegates said the Channel had an option for a fourth year.
Britney And Jason Together Again?
The gossip mills are working overtime speculating if Britney and Jason are together again. Are they or are they not, is the million dollar question.
In-fact there is a doubt if the couple were ever really together. There are speculations that the relationship may have been the result of PR pressure.
The last time they were seen together was on 16th of December, Britney was heard yelling at Jason for leaving her alone. The last few sightings of the couple have not been too pleasant either.
Britney was reportedly under a lot of stress and was suffering from insomnia. Jason was seen driving with sleeping Britney beside him. Could it be related to her relationship with Jason, if not what is causing her so much stress?
